Removing personal stereotype about Wordpress
Wordpress is too complicated and messy, naah I wont use it. Better I will go with custom Codeigniter etc etc.
Wordpress is so heavy for such simple requirement, no lets not increase out tech debt.
Wordpress theming modification is time consuming, lets not get lost there.
Wordpress Grid and CSS is complicated to understand.
Wordpress dont have good docs, lets use something better.
ufff I dont know why I have the above stereotypes but I have never give wordpress a good chance and time to learn, thats my mistake I accepted last night.
In this post I will try to cover what I learn and will try to create a plugin as a personal challenge to overcome above stereotype.
[UPDATES]
Infect I went further and used Wordpress's woocommerce plugin and I was really surprised to see the dedicated community. It was very easy to create store, also to integrate it with payment gateway as well as integrate with shipping providers. I am really gaining a good exposure and the best part is I have not at all touched code (except few lines of CSS, that too from admin dashboard).
